News and Information

Second Trimester Begins

11/15/2019

Today students in grades K-8 are bringing home their report cards. Please review your child's report card and send the envelope back to school. If you would like to schedule a conference with your child's teacher, please indicate it on the envelope.

Now that the second trimester is beginning, it is also time for the second round of MAP tests for students in grades 3-8. Over the next few weeks, grades will be scheduled to take the test. Please be on the look-out from your child's teacher for when your child is scheduled to take his or her MAP test. We ask that each child do his or her best on the test, so it is beneficial to get plenty of sleep the night before. It is also important to eat a good breakfast before the test since our brains work much better when we are rested and full of energy! Following the second round of tests, we will recognize each child that meets or exceeds their MAP growth goal.

Now that the weather is cooling down, we ask that parents review the handbook regarding the policy for sweatshirts, sweaters, and jackets. Only sweatshirts and sweaters that are navy with the OMOS school logo or solid dress code color are permitted.

Sweatshirts may have a hood, but there should be no front pocket. If you have purchased your child a solid, school approved sweatshirt with a front-style pouch, please sew the pouch closed. For the full dress code policy, please see the Parent Handbook on page 21.

Important Dates:
November 15: Report Cards sent home
November 16: Father Daughter Event
November 17: MAP testing begins again
November 27-29: No School, Thanksgiving Break

Fechas importantes:
