PHILOSOPHY
STATEMENT
I love math and I honestly believe that everyone
is capable of being successful in math. Math should never be something to be
afraid of or feel unsuccessful doing. I
will try my hardest to help every student who works hard and is motivated to do
well and succeed. My personal goal is to
provide every student with the skills and knowledge to make math their favorite
subject.
INSTRUCTIONAL
GOALS FOR ALGEBRA and PRE-ALGEBRA
Each topic will be explored with in-class
activities, in-class problem solving, homework, and vocabulary words. There will be review sheets given before each
quiz and test. In addition there will be
group activities and group review of notes.
Notes will be graded for completeness and content. The students will have the opportunity to
write problems that will be included on the review sheets. It is the goal of the instructor that all of these
components will provide the students with a thorough understanding of the
concepts being taught. I feel that math
is a subject that needs to be practiced everyday. It is important that the concepts that are
taught in class be practiced, this is why there is greater weight for class
work and homework then there is to quizzes and exams.
