The Science Olympiad is a national nonprofit organization devoted to augmenting current science education, increasing student interest in science and providing recognition for outstanding achievement in science education by both students and teachers. These goals are accomplished through classroom activities, research, training workshops and the encouragement of intramural, district, regional, state and national tournaments. The Science Olympiad tournaments are rigorous academic interscholastic competitions that consist of a series of individual and team events that students prepare for during the year. These challenging and motivational events are well balanced between the various science disciplines of biology, earth science, chemistry, physics, computers and technology.

Our Strings Orchestra is a fee-based activity available to all students. It meets after school in the music room, and is led by our music teacher, Ms. Bren Chambers. The group regularly performs at school functions including the Christmas Festival, 8th Grade graduation, and our Parish Fiesta.

The Our Mother of Sorrows School Band is a fee based activity that meets before school. For the 2009-2010 school year, the group performed for our Veteran's Day, Christmas, and End of Year Music program. In additiion, they performed in a District Festival with other schools and some of the students performed for assisted living homes. They are directed by Judith Richardson, Tucson Director for www.NewsomMusicEducation.com.
