School Activities
BEFORE/AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES:
Beginning & Advanced Band for grades
5-8; Sports consisting of Basketball, Volleyball, Track and Field for
grades 4-8; Science Olympiad teams for grades 6-8 compete with other
schools; Art Class sessions for grades 1&2, 3&4, 5&6, and 7&8;
Before and After school care for registered students in grades KN-8.
The
Science Olympiad is a national nonprofit organization devoted to
augmenting current science education, increasing student interest in science
and providing recognition for outstanding achievement in science education
by both students and teachers. These goals are accomplished through
classroom activities, research, training workshops and the encouragement of
intramural, district, regional, state and national tournaments. The Science
Olympiad tournaments are rigorous academic interscholastic competitions that
consist of a series of individual and team events that students prepare for
during the year. These challenging and motivational events are well balanced
between the various science disciplines of biology, earth science,
chemistry, physics, computers and technology.
Our Mother of Sorrows' mission is to educate the whole
child. To that end, we encourage the cultural, social, psychological,
physical, intellectual, aesthetic, technological and spiritual development
of each individual.
