Mission
Statement
The mission of the OMOS PARENT T.E.A.M.
is to provide a network of parental stewardship for the students,
families, teachers, and staff, of Our Mother of Sorrows School, bringing
our school and parish together in the Spirit of Christian Community, and
to generate financial support for the benefit of our children
Dear Parents,
The OMOS
Parent T.E.A.M. would like to welcome you to our OMOS Community
as we embark on the 2007-2008 school year. The Spirit has
definitely been moving at OMOS. We've enjoyed great
success throughout last year and we've come a long way in our
re-organizing efforts. It's very rewarding to know that our
children are engaged in their learning experience as they
maneuver the smart boards in their classrooms. Our
bathrooms, although not complete, have a "nicer" look to them
with the new toilets in place. The sports program is also
enjoying the addition of the new bleachers to our field as a
welcoming spot for our spectators. All this was made
possible through your support and commitment. Thank you
for all you do!
Although many
needs still exist throughout our school, we can only focus on a
few.A “Wish List” has been compiled, and we will work towards
funding as much as we can. We have the need for a network server
that will provide the utmost security for all our internet and
computer interactions. In an effort to continue providing a
safe internet environment for our children we will fund the
server. We also want to help with some needed upgrades to the
Parish Hall stage. Dabbling a little in advertising, the Parent
T.E.A.M. will sponsor a half page ad in an upcoming edition of
the Catholic Vision, which will highlight the Catholic schools
in the Diocese of Tucson. Additionally, the OMOS Parent T.E.A.M.
will be one of many sponsors for the Jubilee Celebration sign
that the Parish will be purchasing. Lastly, we will continue to
work towards improvements on the sinks and countertops for the
bathrooms.
Inevitably,
throughout the year, certain curriculum needs will arise where
we may need to alter our goals for the year. We rely on
the information provided to us by the Administration and School
Board in discerning and prioritizing the schools’ needs.
Additionally, as we all know, the per pupil cost of attending
our school exceeds our tuition rate, and so contributions to the
school's operations budget is also an important component for
us.
Lastly, we are
continuing with our reorganization efforts, moving towards more
family oriented and community building events. We welcome
any suggestions and comments you may have for us. Yes,
fundraising will never go away, however, we can do it with
FUNraising!
We invite you
to become a part of the Spirit moving at OMOS as we celebrate
family, friendships, and community throughout the year.
Come join us because Together Everyone Accomplishes More!!!
Blessings,
