SOCIAL STUDIES:

 Study early civilizations: Mesopotamia, Egypt, Greece, Rome, Byzantium, China, India, Europe.  History tells us why and how our human civilization has developed.

 

ENGLISH:

LOTS OF WRITING using Six Traits and your creativity.

VOCABULARY: you’ve got to love words!

Know those verbs, adjectives, nouns,  prepositions, adverbs, and more!

 

READING:

We will read two novels this year in class.

You will complete at least 3 book reports.

We’ll discuss how to analyze and understand what we read in various genres (novels, short stories, non-fiction, poetry).

You will read, read, read!!!

 

SPELLING:

Yes, there are spelling tests.

 

RELIGION:

Our main focus is the Old Testament and its importance as the root of the Christian faith.

We also learn about the significance of Catholic Social Teachings in our lives.

 

Ms Citron’s homeroom students will have all of the above subjects with Ms Citron and will have math and science with Mrs. Holbrook.

Mrs. Holbrook’s homeroom students will have Social Studies and English with Ms Citron.
