Grading will be a mixture of points and weighted categories. Homework, participation, activities, notes, etc. will constitute 50% of the quarter grade, with tests, quizzes, and major projects making up the other 50%. |

Welcome to Jr. High Science! We will be using the NEW Prentice Hall text book this year. I’m very excited about this new, technologically enhanced text. Additionally, the curriculum has been updated, so that it is better balanced between the three domains of Earth Science, Life Science and Physical Science. 7th Grade Seventh graders will be starting the year with a general science overview, which will include terminology, metrics and some chemistry review. We will then progress to Cells and Genetics, Human Biology, and Light and Sound. 8th Grade Eight graders will start the year with a very quick terminology , metric and earth science overview. Next we will lead into the Earth’s waters, Animals (emphasizing ocean creatures and including some dissection), Chemistry and Motion and Force. |
