The CTSO provides scholarships to
students with financial need and gives many students a choice in
receiving a Catholic education. This is all made possible
through the Arizona Private School Tuition Tax Credit Law
(A.R.S. Section 43-1089) and the generous contributions of the
public.
You can now contribute monthly
with electronic funds transfers or automatic credit card
payments. Simply fill out the form
on this link, and REMEMBER to mark Our Mother of Sorrows
as your designated school!
Like most Catholic schools, OMOS does
a lot of fundraising which takes organization, time, money, and
participation. In most of our schools this formula works.
But there are limits.
What if we found a way which is organized outside of OMOS, takes
very little time, and could substantially reduce tuition?
There is a way to use funds already collected for our students
attending OMOS; all we have to do is use it.
The Catholic Tuition Support Organization (CTSO) allows Arizona
taxpayers to direct some of their taxes – the money already
deducted from their paychecks for state taxes or the money they
will owe the state after completing their tax forms – to the
Catholic school of their choice. Hopefully, that would be
OMOS.
Arizona taxpayers may direct up to $1000 for joint returns and
$500 for single returns based on their 2007 returns to CTSO to
benefit OMOS students. OMOS students receive tuition
assistance based on need, but contributions to CTSO help
everyone by keeping tuition costs lower for everyone.
Did
you know...
- One hundred and fifteen OMOS
students directly benefited from reduced tuition last year;
the taxpayers who contributed were not charged one penny
more in taxes.
- If all of our OMOS parents
participated, tuition costs could be lowered for everybody.
- OMOS students who demonstrate the
greatest financial need will continue to receive the
greatest benefit for tuition assistance.
The result?
EVERYONE can benefit from CTSO!
